Speedpaint Resin Figures Without an Airbrush

Unpainted resin figure with a brush, palette and light primer swatches for a Speedpaint workflow

Speedpaint gives a detailed resin figure a fast first pass of colour and shadow. It works because translucent paint settles into recesses while raised detail stays lighter.

Remerlinds kits arrive unpainted, so begin after a dry fit. Supports are removed, parts are washed and cured before shipping.

Start with a light, even primer

A light primer makes translucent colour easier to read. Apply thin coats and test a hidden area first.

Use one controlled coat

Load the brush so paint can move across folds and hair, then guide it rather than scrub. Work one bounded area at a time and lift unwanted pools before they dry.

Choose where to slow down

Speedpaint is strongest on folds, scales and textured relief. Broad smooth plates and focal faces often deserve a slower second pass with selective highlights.

Give every layer time to settle

Let a translucent coat dry fully before correcting it or adding another layer, following the paint maker's guidance for your room conditions.
